Our submissions center supports writers, poets, and essayists seeking publication, visibility, and a professional community. As a global resource for literary professionals, we offer tools, editorial guidance, and structured opportunities for career growth. Each year, we publish the For The Writers annual print edition, featuring personal essays, memoir excerpts, poetry, and narrative nonfiction from both emerging and established voices. We look for work that is authentic, intellectually engaging, and emotionally grounded, reflecting truth and human complexity.
Win $1,000 in Editing Services
Eligibility is open to anyone submitting nonfiction, poetry, or visual work for the #ForThePeople series during the June 2025 through June 2026 window. Submissions may draw on the writer’s own experience or on events carried by a family, a neighborhood, or a community whose history has not been formally recorded. Witness takes many forms, and this series recognizes the value of accounts preserved through direct observation, inherited memory, or the fragments of documentation left behind.
